What is Frito Paw?
Have you gazed lovingly at your pup recently and wondered, “Why is my dog licking his feet so much??”
We love our little dude’s bean toes, but they walk around barefoot all the time - they pick up some strange stuff!
Have you ever...smelled your dogs feet?
Do they kind of smell like Fritos?
Weird, right??
You’ve gotta ask yourself…
Why do my dog’s feet smell like Fritos?
And how do I get rid of Frito feet??
Here’s what it is: bacteria! Specifically, pseudomonas. It’s not an...unpleasant smell, per se, but it is definitely something that might make your dog uncomfortable.
Now remember, licking paws is actually normal for your pet. But excessive licking - that’s where there might be an infection. Consider taking your dog to the vet to be sure there’s nothing more serious going on. But if it is the very common Frito Feet Phenomenon, our grooming sprays can help!
Actually, Frito Feet is one of the reasons we made our spray. We naturally clean our pup’s paws so he can spend his time snuggling us, not snorfling his feet.
We especially love our Balance spray, featuring apple cider vinegar, a natural antibacterial and antifungal.
While some topical treatments can actually dry paws out, our Balance spray features includes coconut oil and shea butter to keep paws well-moisturized.
We recommend spraying it on a cloth and giving your doggo a toe massage - you’ve gotta get in the webbing! It can be a fun little bonding activity after a walk.
Seriously!
Our dogs look forward to it!
